Whether you are new to counseling and psychological services or have been a client before, you may have questions that need answers before you seek the assistance you want. Here are a few of the questions that are heard most often. If you have a question that isn’t listed here, be sure to get in touch.

Will my insurance pay for the services?

Most Insurance plans do have counseling and psychological testing benefits and do pay for a significant portion of the cost. The client is always required to pay the copayment (the amount decided by your insurance plan) at the time services are provided.

All plans are subject to benefit eligibility. Currently accepted insurance:

  • Ohio Medicaid
  • Managed Care Medicaid (i.e. Caresource, Buckey, United Healthcare/Unison)
  • Medicare
  • Anthem BC/BS
  • Aultcare
  • Aetna
  • And others

Who decides how long the counseling will last?

You and Dr. Miller together will decide how often to come and for what length of time. The treatment process varies per individual/family and is designed to meet your specific needs.

How long does a counseling session last?

Counseling sessions will typically last up to 55 minutes, just short of an hour.

Who goes to counseling?

Anyone. Counseling can be helpful to men, women, children and families at any age and stage of growth and development.

The problem is with my spouse, but he/she is refusing to come in -- what do I do?

Start by coming in yourself, then together with Dr. Miller you can discuss ways to make your own progress and then discuss ways to invite your spouse when the time is right and if your spouse chooses to participate.

If I tell you what's really going on, what will you think?

Making positive changes in your life requires honesty, especially to yourself and to those helping you. You will be treated with a high level of unconditional positive regard.

How long will it take until I feel better?

Most clients report that they begin to feel better within a brief period of time after counseling begins.
